With tax season approaching, it's crucial to prioritize your online safety. As your CPA, I'm committed to protecting your sensitive information. Here are some key tips to help you stay safe:
Watch Out for Scams: The IRS, State, and local governments will never contact you about your taxes via email or social media. Don't reply to suspicious messages or click any links. Forward the email as is to phishing@irs.gov, then delete it.
Protect Your Information: Be mindful of what you share online. Avoid posting sensitive details like your birthdate, address, and financial information.
Boost Your Security: Use strong, unique passwords and enable multi-factor authentication (MFA) whenever possible.
Stay Updated: Keep your computer and phone software updated to benefit from the latest security patches.
Use a VPN: When using public Wi-Fi, always use a VPN to encrypt your internet traffic and protect your personal information.

What to Expect from Me:
For your safety, remember that I will never:
Request sensitive information via text.
Ask you to wire or transfer payments.
Ask you to download anything before a scheduled meeting.
Send you unexpected invoices or payment requests.
Pressure you to make quick financial decisions without proper consultation.
If you ever receive a suspicious email that appears to be from me, please forward it to me immediately. Do NOT reply to the suspicious email, click any links, or open any attachments. Stay vigilant and stay safe!
Over and out.
